Second Dutch Capture Technology Symposium

Second Dutch Capture Technology Symposium

Second Dutch Capture Technology Symposium

On 14 December the second Dutch CO2 capture technology symposium will be held. On this afternoon an overview and current status of the CO2 Capture technology in the Netherlands will be given. Cases of the three capture routes, post combustion capture, pre-combustion capture and combustion with pure oxygen will be presented.

Our climate is changing due to the ever growing of combustion of fossil fuels. One way to reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere is to capture the CO2, transport it to a storage site and store in deep underground layers. Although CO2 already is captured for decades for other purposes, the capture part of this CCS chain is still the most costly part. The main strategy of the CO2 capture development is to reduce the cost and increase scale in order to get CCS commercially available in 2020.

This symposium is aimed at engineers and scientists working with separation technology, in the energy sector and for process designers. Participation is free, the number of places is limited.

The symposium is organized by CAPTECH, NPT and CATO-2.

CAPTECH is a five year fundamental research programme on capture technology. It is financed by SenterNovem through the EOS programme and coordinated by ECN.

NPT is the platform Dutch process technologists. NPT is collaboration of KIVI-NIRIA and KNCV.

CATO-2 is the Dutch national research programme on CCS that deals with the whole CCS programme. It is financed by the ministry of Economical Affairs and its consortium partners.
