Borg is opgericht voor het coördineren van voorbereidingen voor het afvangen, transporteren en opslaan van CO2 in Noord-Nederland. Borg richt zich onder meer op de informatievoorziening over CO2-opslag in het noorden en op de dialoog met alle belanghebbenden.

CAPTECH, CO2 Capture Technology Development is a Dutch research programme on CO2 Capture. CAPTECH is connected and supplementary to CATO.

CO2NET represents a large and active European network in this area, with 55 members in 16 countries. UCE is a member.

The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG) presents an introduction to the capture and storage of CO2 and how it could play a significant role in reducing the release of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. There are also copies of IEA GHG reports, their regular newsletter (Greenhouse Issues), details of forthcoming conferences and links to other sites.

NanoGLOWA is an EU project that aims to develop optimal nano structured membranes and installations for different applications in CO2 capture from power plants.

IEA GHG has a co-operation agreement with the European Centre of Excellence on Geological Storage, CO2GeoNET. Recently they organized the 5th Open Forum and presented on the work IEAGHG is doing on building educational capacity/capacity building. The forum covered two days and there were many presentation given covering the status of geological research and public communication activities in Europe.
