2.2 Techno-economic chain analysisMain objectives
This WP aims to identify and assess key costs, technology developments and deployment trajectories for CCS and competing mitigation options in the Netherlands. This activity will require sophisticate modelling efforts which can build on work performed in CATO-1.
In this WP, national and regional pipeline trajectories are designed that take into account technical parameters and limitations, as well as spatial and temporal matching of sink and sources. Synergies and or conflicts with other national goals will be evaluated and market opportunities for the national industry will be identified.
The WP makes use of the information generated in WP 2.1 to address the economics and logistics of CO2 transport development during a transition phase.
Finally, this WP will asses different economic incentives for CCS development and evaluate investment decision models for the transport infrastructure. Economic incentives and incentive models for CCS will be identified as well as the assessment of different sources to exploit and incentive structures that need to be present for the successful deployment of large scale CCS in the Netherlands.
