CCS

In order to tackle the problem of climate change and reduce CO2 emissions,

carbon capture and storage (CCS) represents an essential technology.

The Dutch government has set an ambitious reduction target and will build two large scale demonstration projects around 2015. As of 2020 CCS technology will have presumably entered regular commercial use. Research performed during the CATO-2 programme will support the efforts of both government and industry to achieve major CO2 reduction.
