19th-23rd September 2010, RAI, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The organising committee (OC) of the 10th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies invites you to Amsterdam. In September 2010 GHGT-10 is intended to provide a platform for fruitful discussions on ways to overcome the barriers to - and to find opportunities for - implementing greenhouse gas mitigation technologies. Discussions about technological and other policy-related developments will play a prominent role in the conference. The CATO-2 ProgramCATO-2 is the Dutch national R&D program for CO2 capture, transport and storage. A consortium of nearly 40 partners cooperates to make governments plans realistic. Storing CO2 is one of the possible - some say: necessary - remedies against higher greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere. In the coming years CCS will grow into a practical technology to fight global climate change. CATO-2 follows and prepares all steps in the CCS chain. CCS chain
The first link in the CCS chain is to capture and purify CO2 generated by fossil fuel combustion and some industrial processes. The second step is to compress and transport the CO2 to a storage site. The third and final step is to inject the CO2 in the deep underground, for example in depleted oil or gas fields. Argumentenkaart (Issue Map)
CATO asked the argument factory to make a map with all pros and cons on CCS. Now arguments are known, one can make up his mind on CCS by weighing the several arguments. The map is currently available in Dutch and will be translated to English. CATO-2 news & eventsFifth Dutch CCS Symposium, presentations now available!
